PUTRAJAYA: Police have arrested 460 people for various standard operating procedure violations.
Among the offences committed were failure to register details when entering premises (106), activities at entertainment centres (50), not wearing face masks (80), no social distancing (79) and other offences (81).
Of the 460 nabbed on Sunday (May 9), 456 individuals were slapped with compounds while the remaining four were remanded.
The task force monitoring standard operating procedure compliance had checked 70,700 premises on Sunday, including supermarkets (4,93), restaurants (4,849), factories (2,115), banks (4,043), government offices (903) and hawkers (3,689).
Also checked were wet markets/pasar tani (2,303), places of worship (3,297), recreational places (1,714) and water transport terminals (391).
On Ops Benteng, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said enforcement authorities nabbed 20 undocumented migrants and seized a vehicle.
“Authorities also sighted the presence of 90 vessels in Malaysian waters during eight sighting activities carried out on May 9,” he said on Monday (May 10).
Ismail Sabri said that 935 individuals had returned to Malaysia on Sunday and all were sent to undergo quarantine at government-designated stations.
Since July 24 last year, a total of 200,518 individuals had returned to the country and were quarantined at 78 hotels and nine training institutes.
On essential goods, Ismail Sabri said that enforcement officers from the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry have monitored the supply of essential goods at retail and wholesale outlets and found that the supply of these goods was stable.
