Bethenny Frankel’s Travis Kelce Comments Spark Fury

Former reality star Bethenny Frankel has waded into the debate about Travis Kelce shouting at Andy Reid, comparing the footballer to a caveman.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end came under fire for getting in the face of the team’s head coach and yelling at him. Many have called for Kelce to apologize to Reid.

Now Frankel has shared her thoughts on the matter, with people divided on her take.

The former Real Housewives of New York star shared her thoughts on Instagram as she washed her face.

“I don’t know why everyone is up in arms that Travis Kelce was screaming. He has a beard, he is gargantuan, he looks like he goes to work with a car that he starts with his feet, like he lives in Bedrock,” Frankel said, comparing him to the animated characters in The Flinstones.

She said that she expected him to “have a club, wearing an animal and coming home with an animal he’s killed for dinner,” likening the athlete to a caveman.

“You don’t expect him to be wearing skinny jeans and taking etiquette classes,” Frankel said.

“So I don’t understand why it would be shocking that he’s going to be completely primal at the end of the most primal of experiences, which is beating the s*** out of other men.”

Frankel said: “I think Travis Kelce was completely on brand. What was he supposed to do? Start singing show tunes?”

Frankel’s followers were divided about the TV star’s take on the incident, but many slammed her for bringing it up following the mass shooting at the Chiefs’ victory parade in Kansas City.

Around a million people gathered to celebrate the team’s 25-22 win against the San Francisco 49ers when the shooter opened fire into the crowd. Three people have been arrested for the shooting which killed one woman and injured more than 20.

One person wrote in the comments: “Because he’s on top of the world right now and people need a reason to bring him down. Let them live 👏 I can’t even imagine the adrenaline high you’d have from winning the Super Bowl!”

Another said: “You’ve screamed your head off on many a housewives and exhibited questionable behavior. He talked about it on his podcast. He knows he can have a temper and he and coach are good. They’ve both chalked it up to a moment of being caught up. No one is perfect. Give the grace you hope to get.”

And a third wrote: “There was a shooting at the parade and here you are with your nonsense.”

Kelce addressed the incident involving Reid on the New Heights podcast which he co-hosts with his brother and Philadelphia Eagles player, Jason Kelce, who told him “you crossed a line.”

“I did. I did,” Travis Kelce agreed. “I can’t get that fired up where I’m bumping coach (Reid) and it’s getting him off-balance and stuff. When he stumbled, I was just like, ‘Oh s—‘ in my head.”

Jason Kelce said: “Let’s be honest, the yelling in his face, too, is over the top. I think there’s better ways to handle this, retrospectively.”

Travis Kelce defended himself by saying, “I’m a passionate guy.”

“I love Coach Reid. Coach Reid knows how much I love to play for him. How much I love to be a product of his coaching career,” he said.
