Odisha logs 2,487 new Covid-19 cases, 51 more fatalities
Odisha’s COVID-19 tally mounted to 9,27,186 on Tuesday as 2,487 more people tested positive for the infection, while 51 fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,299, a health department official said. Of the new cases, 1,428 were reported from quarantine centres and the remaining 1,059 detected during contact tracing.

Israel to ship 700Okay Pfizer doses to South Korea in swap deal
Israel is sending 700,000 coronavirus vaccine doses to South Korea in exchange for a future shipment of vaccines from South Korea to Israel. Under the deal, Israel will transfer the Pfizer vaccines to South Korea in an effort to inoculate more of the Asian nation’s citizens this month. South Korea will send the same number of doses to Israel as early as September, the officials added.
No Rath Yatra across Odisha, only at Puri Jagannath temple, SC says
“But situation is such that I have to pray from a distance. If Rath Yatra is permitted, it will be the devotees who could suffer and we don’t want to take the risk,” he said.
CJI Ramana said that he is a devotee of Lord Jagannath and wants to visit Puri temple for last 1 an a half years.
A bench headed CJI N V Ramana was informed by Odisha govt that it would be impossible for the state to ensure observance of strict Covid protocol in thousands of Jagannath temples across the state.
