Ottawa firefighters made quick work of a roof fire at a Barrhaven home Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the house on Blackleaf Drive at around 1: 45 p.m. by a 911 call reporting smoke and flames coming from the roof near the home’s solar panels. Firefighters used an aerial ladder to douse the flames from above, while other crews entered the attic to finish extinguishing the fire from below. The fire was under control within 30 minutes and damage limited to the roof and attic.
An investigator was sent to the scene to determine the cause while fire crews stood by as an electrical contractor de-energized the system.
There were no reports of injuries.
