Press release: Available for immediate release

Founded in partnership with the European LeukemiaNet (ELN) and brought to you by Scientific Education Support (SES), the GvHD Hub provides up-to-date, unbiased resources for healthcare professionals in the graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) setting.

The GvHD Hub remains dedicated to bringing you the latest information regarding COVID-19 and its implications in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, as well as keeping on top of the unmet medical needs in the field.

The GvHD Hub also attended the 63rd American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting & Exposition both virtually and in person in Atlanta. This was the first congress since the beginning of the pandemic that was covered in this hybrid manner, and the GvHD Hub hopes to attend many more like this in 2022. We covered live sessions with key opinion leaders from all round the world, in addition to performing interviews. This will be followed up in the new year with articles on the cutting-edge topics discussed during the congress.

Speaking about the impact the hub has had this year, Mia Hill, IME Director at Scientific Education Support, said:

“The GvHD Hub has virtually attended two major congresses this quarter: the 6th International Congress on Controversies in Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies (COSTEM 2021) and the Transplant Complications Working Party Educational Meeting of the EBMT.

We provided live session coverage of these meetings, establishing an online presence to facilitate the dissemination of key updates and breakthroughs in GvHD worldwide. Our social coverage generated over 59,000 impressions and over 2,778 new website users, which demonstrates the impact our coverage has in the GvHD community.

About graft-versus-host disease (GvHD)

GvHD is a common complication of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and is a major cause of posttransplant mortality and morbidity. It is caused by immune incompatibility between the graft (donor) and recipient tissues. The graft cells recognize the recipient tissues as foreign and mount an immune response against them.
