I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is nearly over for another year, and this year’s celebrities have definitely been put through their paces.

We’ve watched stars including Frankie Bridge, David Ginola, and Adam Woodyatt all take on gruesome trials while adapting to life in Gwrych castle.

The numbers in camp are beginning to dwindle, and so far we’ve seen Louise Minchin, Naughty Boy, Snoochie Petrified, Kadeena Cox and Arlene Phillips all voted off the show.

During their time in camp, we’ve watched the celebs make friends for life and open up on their lives in the spotlight. Here we take a look at what the stars of this year’s I’m A Celeb did prior to finding fame…

Frankie Bridge

Pop star Frankie Bridge found fame as a member of S Club Juniors after taking part in TV competition S Club Search. After this she formed popular girlband The Saturdays, alongside Vanessa White, Una Healy, Mollie King, and Rochelle Humes.

However, Frankie, 32, had various different jobs before she forged out a career in the spotlight.

She dreamed of being an actress, and began auditioning for parts in TV shows and adverts when she was just nine years old, but failed to find a suitable role.

Before launching a singing career, Frankie worked in a local bar not far from her hometown. She also used to work as a sales assistant at the AllSaints concession in House of Fraser at Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex.

Dame Arlene Phillips

Arlene, 78, is a famous choreographer, who was once a judge on BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing.

Arlene had always dreamed of being a dancer, with a notable interest in ballet, and began pursuing her dreams from a very early age.

She previously told how her family struggled financially when she was growing up, so she began working odd jobs to attempt to pay for her weekly dance lessons.

Arlene told The Guardian: “Just for me to go for one lesson a week was a struggle. I couldn’t afford to do extra classes.

“By the time I was 12, I was doing paper rounds, Sunday-morning serving in a cake shop, I was doing everything. And one year, when I couldn’t do the Monday-night class, I used to go and watch.”

At age 23, then began teaching dance when she moved to London, and helped set up the iconic Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden.

Danny Miller

Before finding fame as Emmerdale‘s much-loved Aaron Dingle, Danny was actually cast in popular CBBC drama Grange Hill.

He was cast in the show in 2007, and appeared in eight episodes as a character named Kyle Brown.

The opportunity then landed him the role of Aaron on Emmerdale in 2008, and he remained on the show up until he quit prior to entering the I’m A Celebrity castle.

In a teary goodbye video, Danny said: “This is just a little video to say bye for now, and I hope you see me on your screens doing other stuff in the near future. Sending all my love from my family to your family, and to everyone at Emmerdale, I love you all, I’ll see you on the other side.”

David Ginola

Former footballer David boasts many talents, and is also an actor, model and pundit away from the pitch.

Before moving to England and joining Newcastle United in 1995, David, 54, had played for four different teams in France.

He began his footballing career at SC Toulon, before going on to play for RC Paris and Brest. David joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 1992, and was instantly popular amongst football fans.

The star has gone on to enjoy an extremely successful career, and has played for the likes of Aston Villa, Tottenham Hostspur, and Everton during his time on the pitch.

Kadeena Cox

Kadeena has always been an aspiring athlete, ever since she began sprinting competitively when she was just 15 years old.

Before finding fame as a Paralympian, she competed in numerous national running competitions, and had hopes of joining the British skeleton team.

Kadeena won various medals throughout her early sprinting career, and in 2014 suffered a stroke which led to her MS diagnosis.

She has since gone on to represent Britain at the 2016 and 2020 Paralympics.

Louise Minchin

Louise Minchin is best known for her previous role as a BBC Breakfast host, having fronted the show for nearly 20 years.

Before becoming a staple to our screens, Louise studied Spanish at the University of St Andrews and began a career in radio.

During a year in Argentina, she started working for the Latin American section of the BBC World Service. Louise worked for Radio 4’s the Today programme, Five, and various other local stations.

She joined Radio 5 Live in 1998, where she presented many of the show’s main programmes. Louise soon joined the BBC as a news presenter, and shifted her focus to TV rather than radio.

Having enjoyed a 20 year stint on the BBC Breakfast sofa, Louise stepped down earlier this year before entering the I’m A Celeb castle.

Matty Lee

Matty, 23, shot to fame when he won gold alongside Tom Daley at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Prior to his Olympic debut, he has enjoyed a successful career as a professional diver, having first began competing back in 2012.

Matty won gold at the European Junior Championships in 2012 and 2013, and his winning streak continued throughout the years. He partnered with Tom Daley in 2018, and they first competed in the 2019 World Aquatic Championships in South Korea, coming in third place.

Naughty Boy

Prior to carving out a successful career in the music industry, Naughty Boy was on a very different career path.

He began studying business and marketing at London Metropolitan University, but during his first semester he dropped out. Naught Boy, real name Shahid Khan, then began working various part-time jobs.

He worked at Domino’s Pizza and at Watford General Hospital, before winning £44,000 on popular game show Deal or No Deal.

The huge win allowed Naughty Boy to buy the equipment he needed to set up his own recording studio in his parents’ shed, and now he’s gone on to work with some huge names, including Beyonce, Zayn Malik and Sam Smith.

Richard Madeley, 65, is one of the most well-known TV presenters, alongside wife Judy Finnigan.

However, Richard worked in various different jobs before landing his life-changing role on This Morning and launching iconic chat show Richard & Judy.

He started his media career in local newspapers, before landing a role as a news producer and presenter at BBC Radio Carlisle when he was 19.

Richard then moved to ITV, known as Border Television at the time, and became a reporter on the Lookaround news slot. In the 1980s, he began fronting Granada Reports and soon met wife Judy.

The pair then began hosting This Morning in 1988, and the rest is history!

Snoochie Petrified

Snoochie Petrified, 29, is best known for being a DJ on Radio 1 Xtra, but the star has had a very colourful career prior to her radio stint.

Snoochie, real name Cheyenne Davide, started out as a blogger when she was just 18. Her blog, titled yeahitsshy, gave her a creative outlet where she could express herself and her interests.

Snoochie’s blog proved wildly popular and she amassed a loyal following, and it eventually led to some huge styling opportunities for famous brands, including the likes of Adidas.

I’m A Celebrity’s Snoochie Petrified started a blog at 18

She then landed a presenting role on MTV’s The Wrap Up, and she launched a career as a DJ. Snoochie joined Radar Radio in 2015, and ultimately that led her to BBC Radio 1 Xtra in 2019!

Adam Woodyatt

Adam, 53, is EastEnders longest-serving cast member to date, and is famed for his portrayal of iconic character Ian Beale.

The actor first appeared on stage at age 13, at the National Theatre where he starred in Tom Stoppard’s play On the Razzle. It was during this time he also took up photography.

Adam then appeared in BBC drama series The Baker Boys, but he picked up a different job role altogether after his short stint on-screen. He moved to Wales, where he began working as a butcher for a short period of time.

Adam joined BBC One soap EastEnders in 1985, and has gone on to star in over 3,000 episodes of the show.

Simon Gregson

Simon, known for his portrayal of Steve McDonald on ITV soap Coronation Street, has been a staple to our screens since he was a school pupil.

Producers were searching for two new cast members to join the show, dubbed The McDonald Twins. Having found the first new actor, they sought out Simon who matched the needed characteristics for the second twin.

Simon completed two auditions, and landed the part of Steve in 1989. He’s remained on the cobbles ever since!
