LeBron James hasn’t suited up for the Lakers in more than a week, but that hasn’t stopped him from taking over the internet again.
Social media has been flooded with memes calling out James for lying about various topics over the years, and Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey made sure he knew about it on Thursday’s episode of “TNF in the Shop,” a new alternate broadcast for NFL games on Amazon.
As soon as James started describing how he knew how to use Ramsey on Madden before the Rams knew how to use him, the entire panel of guests started struggling to hold back laughter.
“You know what they be saying on Twitter,” Ramsey said as the panel erupted. “They say you be capping,” Ramsey added.
“Bron you know what they saying on Twitter right now. You be cappin” 🧢

James indicated he’s seen the same memes the rest of us have.
“We were just talking about this the other day,” he said amid the laughter, adding, “I only speak the truth.”
Can we believe him? The memes began after James was apparently caught lying after the death of Migos rapper Takeoff. James said he introduced Migos’ music to his Heat teammates in 2010, but social media noted Migos didn’t produce an album until 2011.
The internet was reminded of the many other times James apparently lied, including when he didn’t have much to say about the Malcolm X autobiography he claimed he was reading, as well as when he claimed he said Kobe Bryant was going to score 70 points the day Bryant scored 81 against the Raptors.

The interaction between Ramsey and James was hilarious, but the NBA icon might be thinking more carefully about what he says in interviews after the barrage of memes.
What is ‘TNF in the Shop’?
“TNF in the Shop” made its debut during Thursday night’s Titans vs. Packers game, airing on Amazon Prime as an alternate stream during the game.
The broadcast is a blend of James’ “The Shop” talk show, which launched in 2018. James, Maverick Carter, and Paul Rivera welcomed on guests Thursday to talk during the game. Dez Bryant, Rob Lowe, and Jamie Foxx all joined the debut episode.
While the show can’t be a weekly event due to James’ NBA schedule, a successful broadcast would certainly give Amazon reason to find more opportunities for it in the future.
Amazon has undoubtedly seen how successful other alternate broadcasts, including the ‘ManningCast,’ have become, and it’s no surprise the streaming service wants to take advantage of the massive Thursday night audience.
