Lone Tree athlete collapses during workout at gym

LONE TREE, Colo. (KDVR) — A Lone Tree gym owner said he is grateful to those who saved his life at another fitness center.

Mark Reynolds, who owns UFC Gym in Lone Tree, said late last year, he was working out at Vasa Fitness, at Bowles Crossing, when he collapsed. He had gone into cardiac arrest.

Fitness center video shows the 54-year-old drop to the floor, and other gym members race over to try and help.

“Very easily could not be here today,” Reynolds said. “Again, if not for all of these people. It’s pretty amazing to watch the video.”

Reynolds credits everyone in the video with saving his life. He said he spent three days in the intensive care unit at Littleton Adventist Hospital.

Reynolds has since purchased a defibrillator for his gym. He said the experience has restored his faith in humanity.
