Police investigating antisemitic graffiti in Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Troy Police Department announced they are investigating an incident involving swastikas being spray painted on the parked trailer of a private contractor. The crime took place early in the morning on February 23, according to police.

Officers found the vandalized trailer near Congress Street and Eighth Street on Friday morning. Police say the private contractor has been assisting with cleanup efforts in the Prospect Park area.

Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello stated “The City of Troy stands against racism and hate in all its forms, and symbols which promote racism and discrimination are not welcome in our community.”

Troy Police are currently investigating the incident in collaboration with state police and the New York State Hate Crimes Task Force. Anyone with information is asked to contact the lead detective at (518)270-4772 or report online by visiting the Troy Police Department’s website.
