It is already known that the live-action adaptation of author Kalki’s epic novel, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, by legendary director Mani Ratnam emerged as a tremendous success with high critical acclaim and a record-breaking box office collection. The film’s sequel is coming to cinemas on April 28.
As the release date is getting closer, the fans were eager for ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ promotions to start and the wait is finally over. The first single of PS-2 was announced by the production houses today. Titled ‘Aga Naga’, the makers unveiled an alluring poster of the song featuring Kundhavai (Trisha) and Vandhiyathevan (Karthi).
Isai Puyal AR Rahman composed the musical score for the PS franchise. Aga Naga is sung by Shakthishree Gopalan with lyrics by Ilango Krishnan. A pathos version of this song was already used as a background score in Ponniyin Selvan 1 and it was celebrated by the fans. The movie’s audio & trailer will be launched at a grand event in Chennai in a couple of weeks.
Ponniyin Selvan 2’s ensemble cast comprises Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Ashwin, Mohan Ram, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu and others. The technical team includes cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad with art direction by Thota Tharrani.
