San Mateo man allegedly stabs co-worker during argument

SAN MATEO — Police arrested a San Mateo man Tuesday after he allegedly stabbed a co-worker during a heated workplace argument, according to authorities.
Police received reports of a stabbing on the intersection of 36th Avenue and Hacienda Street, just outside of Laurel Elementary School in the city’s Hillsdale neighborhood, around 3:15 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a man with multiple stab wounds on his leg and arms. He was provided with medical treatment and transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, a 60-year-old man and co-worker of the victim, was still at the scene when police arrived and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Many witnesses, including more colleagues of the two men, said the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim while they were in a verbal argument.
According to San Mateo police, the two men work for a construction company.
