Ezra Miller, star of “The Flash” and “Fantastic Beasts” franchises, was arrested early Tuesday morning in Hawai’i Island for assaulting an unidentified woman at a private residence, weeks after they were arrested for disorderly conduct.
In a press release, police say they received a call at 1: 10 a.m. about an assault that took place during a “get together at a private residence in the Leilani Estates subdivision in lower Puna.”
According to the report, the 29-year-old actor “became irate after being asked to leave and reportedly threw a chair, striking a 26-year-old female on the forehead, resulting in an approximate half-inch cut.” The victim did not seek treatment for her injury.
Miller was arrested at a traffic stop at 1: 30 a.m. for second-degree assault and “released pending further investigation” at 4: 05 a.m.
This marks their second arrest in a little over three weeks. On the evening of March 27, Miller was booked and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment after an incident in a Hawai’i karaoke bar. According to a police report, Miller “became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke” and “began yelling obscenities.” They then “grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke (disorderly conduct offense) and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts (harassment offense). The bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times to no avail.”
Hawaii Police Assistant Chief Kenneth Quiocho later stated that Miller has been the subject of police calls in 10 times since March 7. It remains unclear how long they have been on the island.
These incidents include “filming people at a gas station, refusing to leave the sidewalk area of a restaurant and arguing with people.” Hours after being released on a $500 bail, Miller was escorted off a property when a resident called police “asking for advice about removing two houseguests from his property,” said Quiocho.
The following day, two people filed a petition asking for a restraining order against Miller. In court records, they allege that Miller came into their bedroom and threatened them before stealing a passport and wallet, among other belongings.
