In an interview with GQ, Keoghan revealed that he had actually auditioned to play the Riddler, not the Joker. He said, “I just made it up,” he confessed about the self-audition video of him, and detailed his desire for the video to have a Stanley Kubrick-style feel. Although his audition for the Riddler was unsuccessful (the role was eventually awarded to Paul Dano), his talent did not go unnoticed.
